Saving TTF paper.

One of the difficult things to manage is the consumption of the Toner Transfer Paper.  As it comes in US letter size sheets it can be used as is or trimmed to fit in UK A4 size trays.  What if you only want to print one decal which uses less than half of the TTS sheet?  Well there is a way to only consume what you require. Follow the instructions by clicking here.

Be careful with the kitchen tissue roll!

One very critical part of the process is drying off the decal after it has been in the water bath.  The decal is at it's most fragile in this form and you have to "dab" the surface with tissue to dry the decal.  Tissue manufacturers use adhesive to hold the tissue onto the core, and when they have finished winding the roll they often use another touch of adhesive to stop the roll from unwinding.  Because of this you should avoid using the first few and last few sheets on every roll as the adhesive being water based can stick to your design on the Mylar and pull it off.

Water temperature.

Some people have found (including myself) that monitoring the temperature of the water bath can help improve success floating off the image on the Mylar sheet.  If you live in a warm climate you probably don't need to worry about it, but I have found that holding the temperature around 25°C (77°F) makes all the difference.

I will add more tips here shortly.
